Avolites reports outstanding success at Prolight + Sound 2017

04 May 2017

Frankfurt, Germany: British lighting and video control systems manufacturer Avolites enjoyed phenomenal success with the launch of their most recent software updates Titan V10.1 and Ai V10 at this year’s Prolight + Sound.

Avolites’ stand hosted a jam-packed press launch event at the show to demonstrate their latest developments in lighting and video control. The event was attended by top industry editors and journalists, including Light & Sound International, TPi and Lighting & Sound America.

Avolites Sales Director Koy Neminathan said: “Our Press Launches have always been well attended, not only by the press but also by a large number of customers and users, and this year was no different. The number of high level designers that attended, and wanted to learn more after, was a clear sign of how far both software platforms have come. We were excited to explain the benefits of the new features developed in Ai V10 and Titan V10.1 right under the live demonstration of the displacement mapping feature, which we created for Jewel nightclub in Las Vegas.”

On-stand product demonstrations were available to visitors throughout the four-day event. Avolites’ diverse team of lighting and video experts were on hand to take visitors through their lighting and video control products in Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

Says Neminathan: “We recognised the need to have a multi-lingual sales team over 10 years ago and since then we have recruited a number of young, talented individuals who not only manage the international distribution accounts but also deliver technical demonstrations on Titan and Ai in their native languages. Speaking to designers and operators around the world and attaining their feedback has been invaluable and this was magnified during the show. Our clients, old and new, were able to converse easily with our team and understand the benefits of our products during the four days.”

Keeping in touch with their fans across the world, Avolites launched a series of successful ‘live from the show floor’ videos, detailing the latest advancements in the brand’s lighting and video integration. The videos, filmed both in English and Spanish for the rapidly expanding South American market proved phenomenally popular on social media, racking up thousands of views.

Stephen Baird-Smith, Avolites’ Sales Manager, comments: “We develop our products alongside our users to ensure the product continues to enable their creative visions.  As a
result, the whole team loves showing off our new features to current and potential users, especially when the reactions are as good as at this show.  The new BPM sync and beat division was a hit with all users who perform lights to music.  Fans of our live palette time feature – long an Avolites favourite – were impressed with the new Scene Master, which takes live improvisation to a new and more sophisticated level.”

Launching at the show was Avolites’ Ai V10 software, a media server upgrade developed alongside some of the top names in the live event and installation sectors. The update includes the integration of real time effects generator Notch and video sharing feature Spout, both of which were developed alongside Ben Miles and video programmer Leo
Flint for Coldplay’s ‘Head Full of Dreams’ tour. Additional updates include BPM Sync, projection mapping tool MeshWarp and Timeline; a feature that provides precise control of video in a timecode environment, whist allowing for live control simultaneously.

Added Baird-Smith: “Our new Ai V10 software, including the new timeline feature, definitely opened up the product for new customers.  Several commented on how many
jobs the server handles in one box: Live playback, precision timecode playback, projector blending, projection mapping, powerful real-time effects and more.  Prolight provides us the platform to showcase the huge progress of the last 12 months to visitors from all over the world, and from many different industry sectors.”

Titan v10.1 offers significant new functionality as well as many fixes and improvements. Scene Master mode introduces a new and more refined way to use the console live and BPM Master ensures all chases and effects attached to them remain not only at the same tempo, but also in synchronisation with the beat and each other.  Effects, including key frame shapes, can now be assigned a number of beats per cycle, allowing for more creative control when performing.

“Avolites has recently gone through some exciting changes which have allowed the company to adapt and change the way we create, produce and deliver world class products,” says Neminathan. “The releases of Ai V10 and Titan are just the beginning with more focus on reliability. We are seeing a sustained increase in demand and currently have the largest order book in the our history due to the strides we are taking as a company.”

Avolites’ first Annual Distributors Summit

Avolites hosted its first Annual Distributors Summit at the Movenpick Hotel in Frankfurt with over 70 of its partners from around the world in attendance. The Summit was held to deliver the company’s new Sales Strategy and Vision Statement - and ultimately to ensure that all of Avolites’ valued sales partners understood the positive changes made recently within the company.

Sales Director Koy Neminathan, who delivered the Sales Strategy, highlighted the work that had been undertaken already within Avolites and explained what steps were now required to move forward. The feedback from distributors was very positive and the event was hailed as ‘professional and beneficial’.

“Ensuring that all of our distributors understand our goals and are fully behind the strategy was key. The summit also allowed us to attain feedback from our vast distribution network and I was delighted to have everyone on-board with our plans. It is crucial that all of our distributors around the world not only understand and execute the tactics but also that they agree with what we need to do today.

“What we must ensure is a consistent approach to training, servicing and supporting our clients around the world. We have provided our distributors with the tools they need to achieve that and this is just the beginning of us delivering our Vision.”
