Titan Mobile the choice for X Factor, Kazakstan

28 January 2014

“Quicksketch” is another amazing feature that exists exclusively on Titan OS. All visual, again! It’s so much easier to quickly recognise an item with the picture rather than a long name.

Dimitry Karabetskiy specified a Titan mobile to control an array of LED and intelligent fixtures for this year’s X Factor in Kazakstan

After using Pearls previously he invested in his own Titan based console,

My first experience of Titan OS was with the Titan Mobile I purchased few years back. It was running on Titan v5 at that time. Patching - was the first thing I really liked in Titan. It’s very important for me to see things visually. I really like using products that display all important information in user friendly way, so there is no need to force yourself to remember some important parts of the show.

The second feature I liked was the ability to allocate fixtures in the layout similar to fixtures on the stage [FIXTURE window]. I’m not a fan of typing into a command line the numbers of the fixtures in order to select them. As for me, it’s so much easier to click on a Fixture or Group icon - and it’s done. I’m sure this method is much quicker than using a command line. The most important thing is - everything is visual! I always know which fixtures are in the programmer and what they are doing at any moment of time.

“Quicksketch” is another amazing feature that exists exclusively on Titan OS. All visual, again! It’s so much easier to quickly recognise an item with the picture rather than a long name.

Another feature that needs to be mentioned is the Pixelmapper. I think it’s the most powerful pixelmapper on the market at the moment. By using “primitives” and animation effects I can achieve so many effects that wouldn’t be possible on some other products.

V6 brought “Move in Dark”. I’m working in TV and any “unwanted” behaviour of the fixture in the beginning of the cue during live filming is considered as “dirt”. Ability to automate the process of preloading the cues is a timesaver.

Titan OS saves a lot of time which is very crucial in preparation of high quality show. So there is more time for creativity, rather than programming.

I really like only virtual limitation on amount of Universes you can use from the console. It allowed me to use the Clay Paky A.leda K20 in extended mode, and that is 131 DMX channel per fixture. So, I managed to achieve some amazing pixelmapping effects. I used 20 Universes on my latest X-factor show with over 100 fixtures.

My “usual” set of fixtures that I use on different Live TV shows which include X factor and The Voice comprises of:

16хСlay Paky Alpha Spot 800 QWO, 16xClay Paky Alpha Profile ST,38xClay Paky Sharpy, 8xClay Paky A.leda K20, 8xClay Paky A.leda K10, 8x JB Lighting A7 Zoom, 8xCoef MP 700 Wash,6xClayPaky Alpha Beam 700, 3xHigh End Studio Spot, 2xClay Paky Shadow QS LT Follow Spot, 10xMatrin Atomic 3000, 12x Showtec 25 lamp Matrix Blinder, 10x4 lamp Blinder, 14x2 lamp blinder, 64xRGB line, 72xEurolite LED par, 14xEurolite LED bar
